Finding Joy In Your Work

It’s possible to find a job you love.

The saying goes, “If you love your job, you will never have to work a day in your life.” And yet, according to a report by Conference Board, a New York-based nonprofit research group, half of all U.S. employees are dissatisfied with their job. A 2017 study on job satisfaction by the Society for Human Resource Management shows that 40 percent of all workers are seeking employment elsewhere. As a result, it’s not uncommon to have people jump from company to company hoping to find some place to belong — never staying too long at any single job.

However, there are many benefits to staying with one company for the long haul.

• You develop a solid knowledge base about your company’s culture, its products and services.
• Stability and consistency leads to greater happiness in life.
• Seniority has its benefits. You become a role model within your team.
• You have more opportunities for promotion, and you may have a say in the company’s future.
• You will gain the respect that comes from dependability.

If this sounds like a pipe dream, it is possible to find a job you love. At Saladmaster, we have people who have found their calling in our company.

Be Like Jeff

For example, this week, Saladmaster honors Jeff Nelson, our Vice President of Finance. He’s retiring after an amazing 35-year career at our company. He started on June 20, 1983 with these words: “I can assure you that I am deeply committed to working as hard as I can to make Saladmaster, Inc. even more successful.”

And he stayed true to his promise. His leadership and wise counsel have been vital to supporting Saladmaster’s sound financial foundation. He was instrumental for encouraging, counseling and teaching many Saladmaster Dealers with finances in their personal businesses. The company continues to grow, in large part, due to Jeff’s contributions.

Jeff isn’t an outlier either. A short walk around the Fort Worth corporate office, and you’ll see people who have been with the company for decades. The same is true for many of our Dealers and Cooking Coaches. Why is that?

It comes down to creating space for opportunities.

For over 70 years, our model has centered on providing business opportunities that are unlike traditional nine-to-five jobs. We offer our Cooking Coaches flexibility where they can determine their own schedule and an income to meet their goals. If you’re motivated, there’s no limit to what you can accomplish. That focus on opportunity and flexibility translates to the highest levels of our company. It’s wired into the ethos of everything we do.

What about you?

Right now, we’re holding open auditions for new talent to join our team. We’re seeking highly motivated people who want to turn their talents into opportunities. Our people are encouraging, full of enthusiasm, and ready to share what the Saladmaster Experience has done for them. You can earn extra income, luxurious trips, beautiful gifts, bonuses, and awards. We provide on-the-spot training by our skilled Cooking Coaches, enabling you to create cooking experiences that inspire others to eat better, live better, and achieve the life they desire. We make it as simple as possible to get started. Our Cooking Coaches and Leadership Team will be with you every step of the way on your path to success.

If you want to work as a Cooking Coach for just a limited time, that’s fine. But we believe the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. Our hope is that you find something you love — for one year, five years, or 35 years.

For some people, being in the kitchen can feel like visiting a foreign land that is confusing and unfamiliar. The good news is, building a confident cooking practice doesn’t have to be overwhelming or stress inducing. Going from beginner to pro, or wherever you are starting is a bit of a learning curve, it's okay! The first step is to start your cooking practice.

The Beauty of a One-Pan Meal

One-pan meals are a good option for people with busy schedules who love to cook, but hate to clean. We know that nothing is more frustrating than scrubbing cookware in the sink until late in the night, when you’d rather enjoy the rest of your evening. With a one-pan meal, the time and effort is dramatically reduced.
