The Benefits of One-on-One Sales

Why Having a Dedicated Dealer Beats Impersonal, Online Shopping

As consumers, many of us have developed a bias in favor of online shopping. After all, what’s better than being able to do all your shopping from the comfort of home? Everything you want is conveniently placed at your front door.

However, certain problems have always plagued the online shopping experience: product quality, unclear delivery times, limited payment preferences, unclear website policies, overwhelming options, and simply not being able to effectively communicate with someone knowledgeable about the product.

These problems are not unique to online shopping. Any storefront can have some of the same issues. Much of it is because a company forgets that the purpose of a salesperson isn’t just to push the product, but to serve the customer and their needs. A good salesperson listens and builds empathy. To quote Entrepreneur Siva Devaki, “Sales is not about selling anymore, but about building trust and educating.”

Direct Sales

For people who work in direct sales, this new challenge presents a great opportunity. Direct sellers have built their organizations on a foundation of trust and education from the very beginning.

The Direct Selling Association on their homepage describes direct selling as “a business model that offers entrepreneurial opportunities to individuals as independent contractors to market and/or sell products and services, typically outside of a fixed retail establishment, through one-to-one selling, in-home product demonstrations, or online.”

As a leader in the direct sales industry, Saladmaster can easily connect you to an Independent Dealership. Meet with someone committed to helping you understand the products we sell. Our Cooking Shows offer a unique perspective on how people can cook more at home.

When a customer is working one-on-one with a dedicated Dealer, it has several benefits. These benefits include:

1. Asking questions

When buying products online, you don’t always have the opportunity to talk with someone directly and get your questions answered. Even at a store, the salesperson’s attention will be divided between you and all the other customers, not to mention keeping an eye on the register and front door.

With Saladmaster, you will have the complete attention of the Cooking Coach who has come to talk with you. What does this mean? You will have a better understanding of the product. You will be able to make a more informed, more confident decision. And we believe you will enjoy your cookware more, when you purchase with that confidence.

Ultimately, it benefits a company to have customers who can talk about the product just as well as the salesperson! They know the product, and they know why they love it. These customers become ambassadors for the company.

2. In-home product demonstrations

Not only can an in-home product demonstration be fun—they are intentionally designed to be interesting and entertaining—but also, a demonstration gives the customer a chance to confirm the quality of the product. Whether online or at a store, you don’t usually have a situation where you can try it out before you buy.

With Saladmaster, you’ll be able to feel the quality firsthand, and even taste the difference between food prepared in our cookware and food prepared in the cookware you currently own. If you are going to invest in premium cookware, you want to see it being used and trust that it delivers on every promise. Online companies are still a long way from being able to demonstrate in your home how the product works—before you buy it.

3. Resolve concerns easily

Have you ever received something online that wasn’t quite what you expected? Have you experienced the hassle of trying to return it? Online companies are working hard to make this process easier, but it is still a frustrating and impersonal procedure.

When you form a one-on-one relationship with a salesperson, they know your name; they’ve learned a lot about you, and they’ve shown you a product that they believe best meets your needs. And if you have any concerns or further questions, they are one phone call or email away. It’s that personal touch that can make an important investment, even more valuable.

4. Follow up and support

Finally, when you have your own Dedicated Dealer, the relationship doesn’t have to end with the sale. Many Dealerships will offer Open House events or Cooking Classes to help you improve or fine-tune your home cooking skills. It’s a fun family-like atmosphere where people can learn to become more confident in the kitchen. It’s also an opportunity to learn about new products and opportunities. Online stores simply cannot provide this level of support.

The direct sales model is about building a network where the customer is valued and heard. This rare convenience is something that Saladmaster commits to on a daily basis, and makes the sales experience more meaningful.

Have you tried one of our Cooking Shows yet? It’s easy to get started. Simply use this Locate a Dealership tool, and we will put you in contact with someone who can find a date and a time that works for you.
