October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Saladmaster has partnered with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and breast cancer surgeon Dr. Kristi Funk to help promote the new Let’s Beat Breast Cancer campaign.
Saladmaster has been working with PCRM for over ten years. We have Dealers who are certified PCRM instructors. They regularly host Food for Life classes to educate the public on the healing power of food and how to put good dietary practices into action. We are excited to support PCRM and Dr. Funk with this important health initiative to reduce breast cancer risks.
The PCRM outlines four guidelines you can follow to reduce breast cancer risk:
1. Choose Plant-Based Foods
3. Limit Alcohol
4. Maintain a Healthy Weight
You can learn more about the steps at LetsBeatBreastCancer.org, where you can also take the Lets Beat Breast Cancer pledge!
When you sign up, you’ll get a free e-cookbook with delicious, breast-healthy recipes from doctors, dietitians, and celebrities—recipes that will turn out beautifully using your Saladmaster
“The healthiest meals are plant-based, low fat, and high fiber: an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, 100% whole grains like brown rice and oats, non-animal proteins such as lentils, beans, and soy. “ - Dr. Kristi Funk, Breast Cancer Surgeon
