Did you know that 537 million adults are living with diabetes? This number is predicted to rise to 783 million by 2045. Something needs to change. Understanding diabetes is the first step to managing and preventing the condition.

The foundation of Saladmaster is built on helping others and changing lives – that’s why Saladmaster gives back to global diabetes awareness organizations such as the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), to help their mission to promote diabetes care, prevention, and a cure worldwide.

The IDF is an umbrella organization of over 240 national diabetes associations in 160 countries and territories. It represents the interests of the growing number of people with diabetes and those at risk and has been leading the global diabetes community since 1950. The IDF is engaged in action to tackle diabetes from the local to the global level ― from programs at community level to worldwide awareness and advocacy initiatives.

The Federation’s activities aim to increase public awareness and encourage health improvement, promote the exchange of high-quality information about diabetes, and provide education for people with diabetes and their healthcare providers. IDF is associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and is in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) promotes preventive medicine and good nutrition, conducts clinical research and encourages high research standards. PCRM’s team of physicians, nurses and dietitians help advance disease prevention and survival through nutrition education and research. Saladmaster’s nutritional cooking system is used in PCRM’s Food for Life nutrition and cooking classes to teach how certain foods and nutrients work together to discourage disease, along with cooking demonstrations of healthy and delicious recipes that can be recreated easily at home. Saladmaster partners with PCRM by hosting Food for Life classes to educate the public on the healing power of food and how to put good dietary practices into action. Stove Distribution in Nigeria

Over 2 million people have been displaced, forced out of their homes from terrorist attacks in Nigeria. Roshan Global Services, in partnership with Saladmaster, have been distributing cook stoves to the displaced women. The stoves themselves use less fuel and omit less smoke, making them cleaner and more efficient. The stoves allow women to cook for their families in a cleaner way after being displaced from their homes. It’s one way that Saladmaster is improving the quality of life for people around the world. “We are here because we want to give succor to these displaced families,” said Happy Amos, CEO of Roshan Global Services. ”Together with our amazing partner Saladmaster, today, they have cook stoves that use less oil and emit less smoke. Their lives will be made better."
