How to Make Cauliflower Rice with Saladmaster

3 Ways to Cook Flavorful Meals That are Vegetarian, Low Carb or Gluten Free

When you’re trying to eat healthy, sometimes you are afraid that you'll miss having flavor in your life. Fear not, because now with cauliflower rice, you can have the best of both worlds! Here’s a Saladmaster guide to healthy cooking with cauliflower rice.

What’s cauliflower rice?

Cauliflower rice is not actually rice at all. It involves cauliflower that is made with a food processor and shredded or processed into fine pieces so that it resembles rice, otherwise known as “ricing cauliflower.” Since cauliflower rice cooks more quickly than rice, you can have a meal ready within 10-15 minutes by using the Saladmaster food processor and any Saladmaster skillet, along with minimal or zero fats, oils, or water.

What does cauliflower rice taste like?

Cauliflower is quite versatile, because like rice it absorbs and compliments the flavors of sauces, curries, gravies and seasonings of the foods paired with it. The key to good flavor is to know what to season cauliflower rice with. Keep scrolling to see more flavor tips, recipes and cooking videos.

Here’s 3 ways to make cauliflower rice with different seasonings and herbs.

1. Try different herbs to make Cauliflower Rice Pilaf. A pilaf is a seasoned dish made with rice which often has bits of vegetables, herbs and seasonings added to it. In this lighter style pilaf, cauliflower stands in for the rice. This quick and easy recipe is ready in about 15 minutes. See recipe here.

Make it gluten free by using tamari instead of soy sauce. Lighten up your traditional stir fried rice by adding in a lot of vegetables. Serve this cauliflower rice as a side dish or as an entrée with a side of seaweed salad or sautéed greens. Find the full recipe here.

Five Reasons to Stay Home & Cook This Weekend

Cooking, social, friends, lifestyle

The weekend is the time we reward ourselves for surviving long, productive work weeks. And for that reward, we typically default to a night out at a favorite restaurant with a few close friends. But maybe there's another way to unwind and treat yourself and your friends to an evening that offers just a little more. And maybe it starts in your kitchen.
